It was important for us to sponsor the conference because, just like early intervention, the atmosphere at Iron Pit Gym is very similar to where, like, no matter your abilities, your background, your walk of life, your culture, it’s all about working towards individual goals.

So we are a new agency, a new therapy agency for First Steps, providing services in Indiana. And so we really wanted to get here and meet people that we’ve really only met virtually, and really kind of network and learn what other providers out there are doing, what they’re learning, and what other services are available for our patients in the area.

I don’t know how this conference could be any more connected to the broader community. I mean, we are talking about children and families. We’re talking about young children and supporting the caregivers of those young children. It’s literally the most connected to the broader community of any topic I could think of.

We have to support our families or our workforce suffers. We have families that can’t work if they don’t have supportive early childhood education, childcare, things like that. So this conference is embedded in everything that the community is trying to accomplish.

Physical health is great for caretaking and supporting one another, because whenever you take care of yourself, you can take care of others. Also goes back to the whole mental health aspect. Whenever you have that on the right route, then everything else kind of falls into place.

We’ve loved being a sponsor. We loved getting to meet a lot of different people across the state and a lot of different providers in our areas. And really, the collaboration that’s happening has been really enjoyable and beneficial.

I walked through the exhibit upstairs, and I got some great new resources to share with families, cool tools to use in therapy, and some great books to use in therapy as well, to share with families.

All the attendees that are coming to the early intervention conference, whether it’s OTs, PTs, SLPs, developmental therapists, or early intervention specialists, that’s, that’s our core audience. So that’s why we’re here.

It’s a little bit of PR, but I don’t think it’s a matter of business. I am here because I want to have people be aware of what interpreter services are.

All of us have the same mission to serve young children and their families, but we all go about it a little bit differently.

I also like to make connection with people and ask questions, and that’s one thing I love about this group is because they’re so engaged. They’re curious.

Usually we’ll see a bump in referrals, which is wonderful because we know we’re reaching more families.

This conference really values our participation, and we’re visible.

I walk around the exhibits and learning these different services that are provided and just to get more details. So when I have a family, for example, if I work with a family, I’m able to say, “Hey, I have this for you!”

It’s a big conference for early intervention here in Indiana. So if you want to promote your business and provide information, this is a great place to do that.

It’s really awesome to network with other agencies and different vendors and businesses.

All we have to do is just stroll by each booth, right? It’s set out. It’s just wonderful!

This group is growing. And I don’t know how they do it, but hats off to the committee, for they put on a great conference.
